Roadblock for me isn’t the fee so much as it is getting another set of fingerprints done.
Come on, fingerprints? They take 5 minutes to do and that is with ink, make it 3 minutes with Livescan. Don’t get caught carrying concealed without a permit. Especially in Virginia where your previous CHP provides “knowledge” that you knew of the requirement.
I take it your from VA? I see your point VA honors both UT and FL CCWs. I think you might want to double check that VA honors non resident CCWs from both states? Might be a little into the gray area.
In the end though I would think you would want to make sure you have your CCW from your home state, just to be sure.
Some states require you to have a permit from your state of residence. Michigan for one IIRC.

Sorry. To clarify, I am NOT a VA resident.
What states offer receprocity with the state you claim as your legal residence? My NC CCP is recognized by many states. If I travel to one of these states, or through one, I’m legally ok. Just my 2cw.
