So I bought a house...

Big step for me I tell you… for a big part of my adult life, I have slept in beds that you could roll, blow or trice up. My wife has done a great job of domesticating me though, and now we have our first house, not “housing”! Not bad if you consider I started all of this when Carter was the President :frowning:

So anyway, this new home is what I listed as “home of selection” and will be my place of retirement; but while military retirement is not that bad, it will not be enough money for us to continue the lavish lifestyle that the wife and I have grown accustomed to… therefore, I must take a real job.

By the very definition of conviction, it would be impossible to form a dichotomy of dedicated employee and unbiased opinion… and rather than risk tainting the waters, it is best to just get out of the pool – this is my last post on M4C, it is a great site and I think it has grown into what a lot of folks hoped it would be. It was great to have been at least a small part of it…

Congrats on the house. But I’m not getting why you are leaving? Please explain.

If you must, best of luck, but I will miss your contribution.

Best of luck!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Your $.02 have always been priceless in my opinion.

Very professional. I respect that. Send me a PM with who you’re working for so I can add another Company to the list that will have my confidence.

Congrats on the new house and job!

Best of wishes to you and thanks for helping make this place what it is today.

Congratulations and best of luck.

As others have said congratulations and best wishes!

Congratulations on the house and best of luck in your new job.

Good luck and thank you for your service.

At least you didn’t buy the farm.

Seriously though, congratulations on the home. I think that many will miss your knowledge and willingness to share it, I will.

congrats, dude. sorry to see you leave - hope you reconsider. i still think that you can still have an unbiased opinion if you post about products that you don’t make or sell.

This place is like crack… you will be back but we will miss you in the mean time.

Ditto that. Hopefully in time you can find away to return as a manufacturer rep without compromising too much on the company’s vs. own opinion issue, but regardless, enjoy the new house and new job and best of luck with both!

Big congrats on the house! I’m also sorry to see you go…

Personally, I don’t feel it would be an issue as long as you were open and disclosed who you work for. There are plenty of industry folks here and on other sites and for the most part there are no issues as long as everyone stays on the up and up.

Hope you reconsider leaving.

Congrats my friend and will be talking and seeing you again soon.

Congratulations on both the new home and the new beginning in your professional career.

I’m not sure why you are leaving here but your professional and informative posts will definitely be missed.

I think I know why he is not going to be posting here anymore. It is this part that you all need to understand

“By the very definition of conviction, it would be impossible to form a dichotomy of dedicated employee and unbiased opinion… and rather than risk tainting the waters, it is best to just get out of the pool”

I support some guys that do a lot of testing on military equipment and aren’t allowed to have personal opinions on stuff tested. Due to legal and contract issues with companies. Good luck K.L and congrats on the house.

Fair winds and following seas brother.

Congratulations on the house! I long for the day when I don’t have to stare at white walls.

I know I fear retirement. Specifically, the change it will bring.

Someone beat me to the fair winds and following seas line, but I pass along the same sentiment.

One thing to remember, OK two things. First, you can access this site via cheap dial up. Second, if your new job has Internet access you can log in from there.

Good luck!

You are a true Gentleman and it has been my extreme pleasure to have made your acquaintence. You have been an inspiration for me on many occasions Thank You for the truthful banter and friendship you have provided.
I hope life unfolds for you an you envision. Good Luck, Sir
