Well it ain’t a CETME parts gun.
That is a genuine Spanish import. Kinda rare, usually around $3k.
Military surplus cancels out inflation.
If I order a new HK91 magazine from HK right now the price is about $30.00 to me as a dealer. The same magazine cost $20 back in the 1980s.
It is only because Germany sent us a few kabiliion of them that they can be had for $3.
This is why military surplus ammo was always so much cheaper than factory new back when such things still existed in the US.
It is ads like that, that make me think I missed the golden age of firearms ownership.
I think quite a few generations have felt that way. My grandfather has some old catalogs lying around with “Genuine Military Issue Colt 1911A1s, vg - exc. cond., $59.95”. I always think; WHY didn’t he buy a half dozen of them?!
His father could have ordered a real Thompson out of a catalog.
One day my kids will look at an old J&G catalog or something of the like, which reads “WASR-10 AK-47, $375”. They will then think; WHY the hell did Dad not buy ten of those at that price?
Guns are still relatively affordable. My advice is to buy what you want (or will want) now, and plenty of ammo for it.
Oh I own stuff not in the market for anything at the moment. I just see that and think damn! Because it is not like their will be another surplus market with all the laws and what not on importation. Sure a kit build, but with the barrels chopped, etc, it is not the same as the one up for auction. That is why I said golden age/era.
