If Im seeing it correctly you need to stake your asap plate

As long as one mark on the castle nut is staked your ok, I can only see one and its not staked. I know there is more material on the asap than standard RE plate but I got 2 good stakes on my asap.

great looking setup! i have the same gun but in FDE.

I am about to put an asap mount on the back… how hard was it to remove the castle nut? mine is staked but not tooo much. thanks!

Just be careful! chanderson1 on youtube has one of the best vids out there. It was not hard to break the castle nut on mine and believe me I didn’t want to replace it so I was extra caustious but it will come off. also when removing the plate that spring behind the plate I can not emphasize how important that thing is to not get bent. and also the asap comes with this notch bit that holds the tube in place after the original tension is done that thing pissed me off cause I didnt know if it went on before or after then after 30 minutes of scratvhing my head I realized laying it down during the hand tensioning of the castlle nut it’ll fit the groove of the spring tube. You’ll see it’ll make sense. I told chanderson1 about stating that in his vid

yeah! i have checked that vid out plenty!! my problem right now is getting the castle nut off. all the tools out there seem cheap… the ones that have 3 teeth have been reported to not fit the mp15. we will see! i already have a replacement castle nut on the way. thanks!

i have one of those cheap looking spanner wrenches one the way as well. from what ive read there as well ill be lucky if it works.

I’m using the CAA tool pretty good. Used a rubber mallet to do some pounding and a hammer in the mag well to hol id in place. plus I did al this with the lower on a phone book.

I warped the shitout of mine. So I ended up using a tack YES A TACK. wrapped the spring around the tack used a lighter pased it by it a few time held it in place and the spring is just like neew. the two are close in circumfrance*
