CLP is a better preservative than SLIP200 gun lube but SLIP2000 gun lube as a lube is much better. It’s as good as Militec-1 but non-toxic.
Sounds just what i need, tired of CLP cooking off long before firing session done.

My department started using Slip2000 in 2001. Since then, it’s the only lube we use for issue weapons. I have had good results with the cleaning solutions, too. The only problem is the the bottles, originally, were too similar looking and the copppers couldn’t figure out which one to use for lube and which to use for cleaning.
I’d say Paul B’s and Pat’s observations are spot on here. This is GREAT stuff. I’ve used it so far to clean my M4, 1911, and just recently a 10/22 that we pumped 500 rounds thru (.22lr is CHEAP and fun). On the Ruger, all it took was a few brush strokes (using the 725), 2 or 3 wet patches and some dry patches and DONE.
And yes, it doesn’t cook off like CLP.
Go get yourself some, you’ll be happy!
Can you get bigger bottles of this stuff?
I bought a gallon can of SLIP 2000!
We started using it circa 2000, and Greg has been extremely responsive in providing the military with a variety of products.
I like the stuff, and use it extensively. I hand out samples in my classes. All of my guns are cleaned with, and lubed with Slip 2000

What is the correct usage for the cleaner in the little spray bottle? Is it intended to mainly be used for totally cleaning a firearm from OTHER lubes before using SLiP2k or do you use it to clean every time and then relube with SLiP2k?
I bought direct from slip- a bottle of lube and a smaller spray of cleaner. I used the cleaner to clean the G32, 92fs and AR completely and then lubed them with the lube.
The cleaner is going to go fast if I use it every cleaning. I’m starting to think the lube works like a CLP and I should use it to clean with?
Anyone can answer, feel free. I just happened to read an article by Pat a few months ago that caused me to order some!

I got some Slip lube and cleaner from BravoCo last week – after shooting this weekend, my gun is still lubed…a novel concept for a former CLP user.
Been using the carb cleaner and slip 200 for several years now.
I have a gi ammo can I keep full of the carb cleaner and drop the BCG (disassembled) and other small parts in after a range trip.
This stuff is GOOD! ![]()
I’ve always wondered about that myself.

The lube is marketed as a CLP.
Read Cleaning and Lubrication by Pat Rogers. If you follow this approach, you will slow down consumption while getting clean what is really important.
Now that you have the small applicator bottles, buy the larger containers and refill.
Ordered both the cleaner and lube on Monday and it’s already shipped out and on it’s way. Looking forward to trying both out, but with the excellent feedback, I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.

And for you AK shooters… it cuts the corrosive salts
it is all I use
The carbon cutter will make the cylinder on your J-frame look new
SLIP is the t!ts. The EWL lasts longer (e.g. doesn’t cook off) than pretty much any other lube I’ve tried. The Carbon Killer is great for soaking bolts, suppressors, and anything else that tends to get caked.
The last carbine course I attended, a guy had a Colt that started to have cycling problems on TD2 (it was BONE dry)…I keep a small bottle of EWL in my Camelback, so I put a couple squirts in the holes on the side of the BCG at the ejection port, and he ran fine the rest of the course. Good shi’ite.
the Cleaner/Degreaser is great too. gets a lot of accumulate crap to loosen up, and doesn’t leave the mechanisms bone-dry like brake/carburetor cleaner.
