Slip 2000 did it again

A thread on another forum reminded me that I was getting low on some cleaning and lube supplies, so I placed an order for some Slip 2000 EWL, carbon killer, and degreaser. My order looked like this:
SLIP2000 Extreme Weapons Lubricant 32 Oz. Trigger Spray Bottle 1 $65.50
SLIP2000 Extreme Weapons Lubricant 4 Oz. Bottle 1 $12.50
SLIP2000 Extreme Weapons Lubricant 1 Oz. Field Pack Size with Flip Top 1 $6.95
725 Gun Cleaner / Degreaser 16 Oz. Trigger Spray 1 $13.85
SLIP2000 Carbon Killer 32 Oz. Plastic Container 1 $22.95

and came out to $135 shipped.

The package arrived yesterday and I opened it up this morning. Here’s what I ordered.

Funny thing is, there was a lot more stuff in the box.

At first I was concerned that they had shipped, and charged, me too much but then I dug out the invoice

See all those $0 amounts in the right hand columns? Here’s what that totals up to
Extreme Weapons Grease 1.5 oz Price: $8.95
SLIP2000 725 Gun Cleaner / Degreaser 16 Oz. Trigger Spray Price: $13.85
6 SLIP2000 Extreme Weapons Lubricant Price: $41.70
6 Needle Point Applicators Price: $9.00

That’s $73.50 in freebies, for an order that was originally $121.75, AND the shipping costs stayed exactly the same. Now I’m not saying that if you order $135 worth of stuff you’re going to get over half the base cost of your order in freebies, but consistently every time I’ve ordered from EWL there has been USEFUL extras in the box. Hats and stickers are great and all, but this is stuff I can actually use. After 15 hats I’ve started giving them away, but the lube products in here will be stuff that I can use on my own guns AND use to help keep other guy’s guns running at matches and drills. And hell, I’ll still probably give away the 1 oz. tubes of EWL 30 just 'cause I’m a nice guy.

my experiences with SLiP 2000 have always been very good also, from their products to their CSR’s. They are on “go-to” list for safe and trusted sites.

Nice. It was very generous of them to add all the freebies. It also reminds me to order some carbon killer for those rare occasions that I actually clean my weapons!

GEEZ!

For a guy who isn’t big on weapons maintenance…

I haven’t spent that much on cleaning supplies in 10 years!!

They should be throwing in freebees!

The Slip system plays right into my laziness. Drop the bolt, or all the BCG parts broken down, into the Carbon Cutter, run a patch soaked with 725 down the barrel. Hose out the upper and lower with 725 & wipe down, spray a little EWL in the upper and lower & wipe around, pull the BCG out of the jar, hose off with 725, wipe, hose down with EWL, chamber brush, one more 725 patch down the barrel followed by a dry one and then an EWL patch, reassemble. Maybe 15 minutes from the time I pop the takedown pin to when I reinsert it.

These supplies will not only be used on my own guns, but also those of others at the range when they show up with bone try guns that won’t run.

:stuck_out_tongue: I hear you.

I’ve been wanting to buy some more carbon cutter to soak my silencer. I know they say you don’t have to, but the build up is gnarly in there.

This sounds like remarkable stuff. How did you first hear about it? Have you used it on any other guns, or just AR pattern guns? I’ve been using Hoppes Elite with good results for going on a couple of years now, but I don’t put nearly as many rounds downrange as I’d like to. How would you compare the Slip 2000 products to the other commercial/retail products out there?

Where did you order it from. EWL Directly?

Yep, direct.

+100 to Slip 2000. I’ve only ordered once, but their CS was awesome and their products are even better.

I will have to pick some of this up when I get home. Sounds great.

Slip is good stuff. Not only great on weapons, but it makes an excellent penetrating oil for garage work.

Just thought I would bump this to add my experience with the company. I ordered some stuff from them Monday and even though their site says to allow 7-10 days for shipping, it got here today. Excellent service, two days with the normal shipping rate. Now I just need to decide if I should use the degreaser/EWL for my bore or stick with Hoppes #9 for the bore and use this for the rest of the gun…

Probably has something to do with getting extra extras, Your great free advertisement for them.

I really need to try some of this stuff!

They make a great product and I’ve had nothing but excellent CS. I converted to the cleaners, degreasers, carbon killers, and use the lube quite often.

I’ve had a few freebies thrown in before too…which reminds me to make another order.

If one was putting together a little kit for a 5.56 and 9mm for home use and to take along to classes, etc. what would folks recommend picking up? Thanks.

Good question…I’d like to know as well!

I don’t think these guys have any idea who I am. Even if they know “rob_s” or “tacticalyellowvisor.net” all my online ordering is done with my real name and from a different email address.

This is what I bought the first time.
