Sling Suggestions for Larue Tactical PredatOBR?

Can anyone suggest a sling for the Larue PredatOBR in 7.62 w/16" barrel? I like the ones on the Larue web site but I also want to use the Larue QD mount.
The reviews section on the Larue site says that the QD mount adaptor has to be “shaved” or modified to avoid removal of another segment on hand guard leaving an unsightly gap?? What is the deal with this? Does anyone have one of these or care to comment? All opinions appreciated.

Precision shooting or more tactical style? If tactical, take your pick from all the popular suggestions (VCAS, for instance).

For precision, I’m a big fan of the Short Action Precision sling. Or, for a hybrid style that you can carry like a tactical, but sling up if you want, check out the FTW sling or Armageddon Gear.

Padded Vtac is very useful on a gun like yours. My 16" 308 has one. Actually all my guns use some form of Vtac.

Padded VCAS is my suggestion. Comfortable for carry, super quick and easy to adjust, and without any trailing straps.

Also since Brigand mentioned shooting slings, you can use the VCAS, VTAC, or any other 2-point tactical sling as a shooting sling quite easily if you mount it with the front attachment point forward of where your support hand grips the handguard in prone, adjusting the sling in tight and wrapping your wrist as you do with a “hasty” sling.

Ive never like the VCAS, the tail annoys me.

A Padded VTAC or Ares Huskey are the only slings I recommend. I have two or three of each on multiple, different platforms.

The VTAC is the one with the tail – on the VCAS, both ends of the adjustment loop are captured.

The QD sling adapter is too long to fit between the OBR grip covers. Some has to be cut (shaved). The covers are plastic and would be my choice to cut. A chop saw would be my tool choice but watch the fingers!!

Magpul MS4 or padded MS1 is a solid candidate as well.

I know a lot of people still like the VTAC/VCAS slings, but I like the MS1/MS4 quite a bit more. The MS4 just comes with QD mounts and is convertible to single-point, the MS1 comes with loose tails that you would run through QD swivels.

I bought an MS4 and hate it. The adjustment absolutely sux. I bought the Vickers and man it rocks. The adjustment works the way it is supposed to.

I don’t really have a strong opinion either way on the different adjustment styles. I like both.

You are joking…right?

VCAS or Savvy Sniper makes some good slings that might fit your needs…

I’m a VTAC user, but have a VCAS too. Probably either one will work for you, I just prefer the VTAC. Padded is more comfy-er.

I don’t understand why anything needs to be altered (QD cup or grip panels). Just checked the website and they don’t appear to have changed the designs. I use the LaRue QD (OBR) cup and the LaRue plastic grip panels. No modifications were necessary. In the photo the sling cup is at the end, but it was previously mounted closer to the receiver and between the grip panels.

ETA: I prefer the padded VTAC sling. Frank Proctor has a sling that does away with the tail but still allows quick adjustments. I will try one eventually.

I don’t use slings too much anymore but my favorite was / is the VTAC.

I don’t see many mentions on here for the Gear Sector slings, but I have a bunch of their 2 points and like them.
