Sling mount help: rear of M4 handguard?

I am (very) slowly but surely working on a simple carbine build, and will be using a regular M4-type handguard. I would like to attach a 2-point at the rear of the handguards (same spot as the built-in QD on Larue rail). I realize a normal FSB side sling swivel would be easier but that will interfere with placement of my light.

Any solutions that don’t involve excessive duct tape and paracord?

I would recommend against installing a sling attachment to a regular handguard. You could end up pulling the handguard off of the rifle.

Understood. Let me rephrase my question a bit then:

I plan to mount a TLR1 between 9 to 11 o’clock at the front of the handguard. Based on my experiments with a TLR1 and duct tape that the best position that works for me to activate it without contorting my hand. Is there any way to attach a 2-point behind that without a railed foreend? Maybe a simple single point is going to be best for this one.

I can’t think of any safe, stable method that wouldn’t interfere with your grip.

Maybe a simple single point is going to be best for this one.

That’s what I’d recommend.

Paracord is your friend. However, sustained fire may fry it.
