SKD Tactical - two pig hooves up

Im sure everyone knows about SKDs generous SUCK IT promo and their excellent product.

But I have to give a shout out for their excellent customer service and how they went above and beyond to make sure I was a happy customer. Not only did they have fast communication, but they were very professional with with their responses. Good customer service is what will keep customers coming back again and again. And SKD has a lifetime customer in me.

I just wanted to make this post because it feels good knowing that theres a company out there that you can trust.

That’s good to know. Thanks for posting it.

+1 on that!

I’ve used them several times within the last year or so and I’ve been wonderfully pleased each and every time! They’re always the first site I check when I’m looking to make a new firearms-related or tactical gear purchase.

+1 more!

I placed my ordered and received it in about 2 days time total.

Thanks for the kudos guys… we aim to please and you customers keep us on top of our game!

Kumbaya, my lord…

You have my attention.

I recently purchased my Aimpoint PRO through SKD. I followed the link from Aimpoint’s website. This was my first experience with SKD.

The price was $400 shipped…awesome! MSRP is $440. I was very happy with the price.

They needed a copy of my LEO credentials…no problem. I faxed and emailed the upper half (federal creds are two part) of my creds several times. When they finally responded, they made a snarky comment about only sending the half with my name and job title. They stated that they needed the half with my picture? By regulation, we are not supposed to transmit both halves for security reasons. I figured the one that had my name and job title would be sufficient. I was so frustrated, that I emailed the other half also.

Shipping was almost two weeks from point of purchase. I was less than enthused.

They appear to have a great inventory and competitive prices. Their shipping guarantee appears to be tier one, but I did not see it in my purchase.

I am not sure if I will use them again.

Their shipping guarantee appears to be tier one, but I did not see it in my purchase.

In my experience, SKD’s shipping is, if not the fastest, easily among the fastest I have experienced. $5 flat rate can’t be beat, either, when most places tend to charge around the $10+ mark.

The one screwup I had with them was fixed rather quickly…I ordered an ATS chest rig and the one shipped was the wrong one, so shortly after I sent an email detailing the issue, I had a return label in my email inbox and shortly after they received the return (and they contacted me to let me know they had received it!) the money was credited back to my account.

sgtjosh,

I’m sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with your experience. I’m looking into it as I write this, but here’s what I surmise happened…

We had a lot of issues getting our employees acclimated to the Aimpoint PRO ID requirements… We continue to have one of the most comprehensive document requirements for Body Armor sales out there which is what they were used to dealing with all the time. As a LEO, I’m sure you can appreciate our efforts to try and keep Body Armor in the hands of those without criminal intent. We get a lot of people sending in “creds” under the LE sales category that are not “quite” LE, or in some cases, have part of their ID redacted. People would get upset with us when we had to explain that their Volunteer Firefighter ID didn’t meet our requirement for Active Law Enforcement, or that we couldn’t use a copy of an ID that had any part of the image modified, just as a LEO wouldn’t be able to accept a modified ID as legitimate at a traffic stop. Keep in mind that in today’s litigious atmosphere, where gun manufacturers and dealers are getting sued for criminal acts with their products, it is our ass on the line should any armor we sell be used in an illegitimate manner.

So when Aimpoint started limiting their PRO sales to “qualified” buyers, we started to require creds, and the same standard for Body Armor purchases was applied to the PRO purchases for a while because no one told our team members otherwise. For someone who isn’t intimately familiar with all the different kinds of creds out there, when they get an LE ID with no picture on it, when every other one they’ve seen has a picture, it raises questions.

Assuming that is what went down, I can’t blame one of our team members for trying to do their job to the best of their ability. We have since made the distinction between our Body Armor ID policy and our Aimpoint PRO ID policy quite clear to all our employees, and our customers can now expect that level of scrutiny only with Body Armor purchases. A picture of your business card would now suffice for a PRO purchase. Please don’t take it personally- the good news is that you have already cleared the hurdles to purchase body armor from us :stuck_out_tongue:

With regards to our shipping guarantee, it clearly excludes any orders that require documents (See our Shipping Policy). Had you ordered an Aimpoint T-1 instead of the PRO, you would’ve had it in 2 days. I hope that helps shed light on what probably went down- please don’t take it personally. When I have your email correspondence forwarded to me to review, I’ll update you with anything else I find that is relevant, but my money is on the above scenario.

I hope you are enjoying your PRO, and be safe!

SKD is my favorite gear dealer, hands down. I have nothing but good things to say about those guys.

Thanks to SKD’s promotions (Year of the Magpul and SUCKIT) they have helped deplete my gear budget. I also like the fact that they let me choose USPS as a shipping option as it is less expensive, faster, and more secure (for me) than UPS or FedEx.
