Single point sling attachments?

I’m looking for a good single point sling attachment adapter for my Remington 870. I want to be able to use my existing magpul MS3 sling with the paraclip. Is there any good adapters that will work with it?

I’ve already looked at those. I believe you gotta use the SGA magpul stock to be able to use it. I’m not going that route.

Maybe something from Midwest Industries?

Try GG&G.

Frankly, I think Magpul really got that one wrong in making it only fit their stock, and not other stocks like the plate type mounts that every other shotgun sling mount made by every other manufacturer utilizes.

Do you hear that Duane? You guys screwed the pooch on this one.

The DD adapter I bought new two or so years ago worked fine on an 870 Express with a polymer trigger plate, but the radius of the two corners of the adapter’s “notch” caused interference with a cast metal 870 “Police” trigger plate. I “fixed” the issue by decreasing the radius(es) with a needle file, and - fortunately - the consequent removal of the adapter’s anodizing in both corners was hidden.

The adapter I got from Gear Sector (an MI, if I remember correctly) fit an 870P trigger plate without any problems at all. The GG&G looks like it should also work on a metal trigger assembly, but I have no personal experience with it.

(All this is in the past tense, as I sold the plates after converting over to GS-2P two-point slings. Loved the single-point ASP when I was standing still, but didn’t like it as much when I got to moving about.)

I’ve got the GG&G plate on my 870P. Works great. Still on the fence about single-point slings, though I like them more on a shotty than anything else.

Ditto:

I may give this sling a try with a QD swivel to plug into the GG&G adapter to see how I like it.

not a fan of single point slings on a shotgun, took a class and during transition drills i had to use 30% of my focus on making sure the damned thing didn’t smack me in the kness each time:stop:

First time I tried a transition with a single-point, I bag-tagged myself with my 870. That soured me pretty quickly. That said, there are some definite benefits to the single-point for indoor work, and I like not having the front part of the sling up where my support hand is working the pump. Like anything else, there are trade-offs.
