I have a Colt LE6940. I am looking to install the MIAD. When I remove the old grip, and replace with the MIAD, I know to replace the detent and spring. My question is, does it matter if the selector is in the “safe” or “fire” position during removal and installation? Thanks.
Shouldn’t matter too much, if at all.
Doesn’t matter.
I had that question too, and trying it with it both on safe and fire, it doesn’t matter…but just be careful not to lose that spring haha…I searched for a good 15 minutes for mine after it shot out ![]()
Good move! Far and away my favorite grip. I always add a piece
of bike inner tube over the whole thing too.
Why? ![]()
For grip I’d imagine.
Awesome grip! And don’t forget to install the roll pin on the back strap…
“this is my safety sir”

Woops!
Always wondered what that hole was for
After a quick Google, I found out a roll pin was supposed to be included, right? I ordered the full kit and didn’t get one.
To keep his 3 rounds waterproof, duh! ![]()
Yeah a role pin is supposed to be included…play around with all the grips and stuff though until you figure out exactly what you want then you can put the pin in…the pin is stupid hard to get out once in haha.
Some may disagree, but in my case I didn’t install the roll pin on purpose. The back strap went on quite snugly, and the tab clicked into place. I am not worried about it falling off, and even if it did the weapon would still work.
You should be fine but there is a possibility of your backstrap sliding around. Once you decide that your chosen strap size is the one for you, I would go buy an appropriate roll pin from the hardware store and put it in.
nope! just make sure it doesn’t fall out
