Im interested in purchasing a Silencerco Specwar 556 for my SPR build. I heard they have little blow back and low POI shift. But I did not see it being listed as full auto rated. That gives me some concern to its long term durability. Anyone have any experience with the Specwar?
The full auto rating is nice but overkill. The entire baffle stack of the Specwar is stellite. Stellite is reportably tougher than inconel which has been an industry standard for a while for baffles. Bottom line, no worries. You said yourself it’s going on a SPR meaning low rate of fire.
As others have mentioned, blast away with confidence. The Specwar has a full Stellite baffle stack, which is plenty durable for machinegun fire, let alone your SPR. All SilencerCo products also come with a 100% lifetime warranty, so on the off chance you ever do have an issue, send it back and we’ll repair it no questions asked.
It all depends on firing schedule. Running belt after belt of full auto on an M249 will wear it out exponentially faster than semi-auto use on a carbine/rifle, in which case the can will out-last your gun, or at least the barrel. Trust me when I say you don’t have to baby the Specwar, though…it’s a tank.
Just to add on their CS; it’s pretty top notch. I emailed them on a Sunday night around 8pm or so, not expecting a reply that late at night, yet I had a reply within 15 minutes, helping me out even with the few subsequent emails I followed with. Very much appreciated on that front!
Good to hear thanks! I ran a Saker at the Idaho PRS match and really liked it and I have a Specwar 7.62 paid for and just waiting on the stamp You guys build great products!
