I am going to get a remington 870 TAC desert. I want to get a set of sights Ghost ring and a rail to mount a T-1 on. Any reccomendations?
I have the Vang Comp rear/w integrated rail and their matching front sight. Haven’t fully put it through its paces yet (100 rd. to date), but the rear adjusted with no problems and seems sturdy enough.
did you send your shotgun to them for installation?
No, the sights and rail came with a Vang Comp modded 870 Police.
Have you had any formal shotgun training? What is your reasoning for wanting to add a T-1 to your shotgun?
If you are dead-set on adding almost $1000 to your shotgun (to only marginally improve its effectiveness IMHO) you may want to consider a notched rear rifle sight for use with the T-1 instead of a rear ring.
I am not dead set on the T-1 just want the ability to add one the main thing is the Ghost ring sights, I know the Wilson / scatter gun trac lock sights are good as are the Vang Comp sights I am just looking into ideas from all.
I like the scattergun Tech ghost rings I have a set I put on my 870
I got the Mesa Tactical saddle rail intending to mount my T-1 on my 870P. The factory Wilson Combat ghost ring and XS blade front on my gun are excellent so I saved the T-1 for a carbine. I now have the rail available but will probably never use it.
I use a large, brass bead on my cowboy action shotgun and I find that to be the fastest for close shooting. I got the ghost ring on my HD gun for shooting slugs more accurately at 50+ yards. If I were to start over I would buy the cheaper bead sight model and have it replaced with the larger brass bead.
Save the T-1 for something that needs it.

I’d experimented with an H-1 for a couple of months. In that brief period, there were occasional issues acquiring the dot, due to a personal habit of instinctively using a low “brass bead” cheekweld. The H-1 is dismounted for now, but not completely discarded. Will possibly re-evaluate later.
OTOH if I recall correctly, FJB had mentioned that he used a T-1 equipped shotgun for bear protection missions in Alaska. I think that must certainly speak for a high level of attainable performance and speed.
