I’m in the market for a scope for the AR and I like the vortex 1-4pst but also considering the sightron 1-7 having that extra magnification would be a bonus, or is there any other brand I should consider looking at a budget of 650 also going to set up angle irons so all views/products considered

The Vortex IMO is the best sub $800 1-x optic on the market. Its bright, clear, and backed by the best warranty in the industry.
I am with VIP3R on the Vortex PST. I have limited experience with mine so far (less than 1k rounds) but so far it has exceeded my expectations based on target acquisition speed and low light use.
I love my vortex viper pst scopes, can’t beat for bang for the buck.
Is illuminated circle daytime visible on Vortex PST, or it washes off in daylight?
I have not looked at a snowy field with the optic yet, but in the crazy rain/storm/snow flurries/sunshine we are getting here in Washington, I have yet to find an environment that washes out the reticule. I understand that some folks have an issue looking from a dark location (under a cover) out to a brightly lit location, but I have not experienced any issues along those lines yet.
