I have a 6920 LE that I would like to add a aimpoint or eotech to. Can I just remove the carry handle and use that rail? I would also like to add a folding buis rear at the same time. Would this work with my front sight? I have never used a red dot but my eyes are getting older and I could use some help. Any recomendations? Just a fun gun not a defense weapon. Thanks
Remove the carry handle and you’ll be all set for the scope/sight as long as you have a mount that is compatible. Also, any number of the folding rear sights out there like Troy, Magpul MBUS, Knights, etc.
Yep, just remove the carry handle and put on your optic and BUIS, they will both fit. Keep in mind the co-witness will depend on the optic/mount you choose
I put an EOTech 516 (no NV capability) on my 6920. It’s the right height for an absolute co-witness (personal preference) between the stock FSB and a Magpul MBUIS rear sight, no additional riser needed.
I love my EXPS 3-2 and KAC 200-600 micro. You may not like the 3-2 if you have older eyes, I know my dad has trouble getting a clear view with it. I had the Magpuls on it for a while but i really don’t like them all that much, they are now on my .22 upper. I like a rear sight with elevation adjustments.

Yes. The EOtech will mount directly to the rail. An Aimpoint uses a mount in conjunction with the optic, then mounts to the rail.

Yes. The dot will float at or near top of the existing fixed front sight, depending on the configuration.

IMHO the best buy on a red dot optic is the Aimpoint PRO. $400 for a duty-ready general purpose optic, including the mount. A Magpul MBUS is a decent choice for a rear folding sight.
Spend some time reading about opinions on optics here. There’s a ton of good info.
Thanks Eric, I bought the Aimpoint Pro and a Troy rear after much research. It looks like this is what everyone is recomending so it looks like I did OK. I don’t have them on yet but will soon and then give them a good workout. Thanks again
