Putting together a short action precision rig, using their LSS Chassis and MDT Skeleton Rifle Stock V2.
When it listed a length of pull at 16 inches I thought that meant on the high side since it is adjustable. Well that was wrong, that is on the low side!
Seriously, who designs a precision stock outside of the precision median length by over 2 1/4 inches? Fully extended it is 17 1/4 inches… This is not a shotgun, SMH.

Wow, I was just thinking about buying one for my savage yesterday, I appreciate you posting this as I prefer a very short L.O.P its rare for me to run my ar’s anything longer than the first or second position on my 6 position stocks… and I thought my savage already had a long L.O.P. This is some very good food for thought. I almost made a problem for me even worse. I hope they let you return it if you wish do do so… I’d say go shoot it first though and see what you think, or if it bothers you while your down on the gun shooting prone or supported kneeling.
16" minimum is nuts. Orangutans couldn’t get a good LOP on that rig.
If you’re going to have to go the tube route, take a look at the XLR stocks. Very configurable for us non-tall shooters. And there are several shorter tubes made for these type of stocks.
Wow improved, really? That’s what they call it? I’m glad I just threw a vltor a5 on one of my ar’s, and have a spare buffer tube just sitting in my shop or this would have been a no go. Could someone also answer the question for me as to why Americans like such long L.o.p? Maybe it just me since some of my first guns growing up were youth model hunting rifles,sks’s,and ak’s? I mean I’m average height and I absolutely hate any l.o.p past 13.5, I remember when i picked a ak103 up from Atlantic firearms back in like 09, when it arrived it had a NATO length stock, which wasn’t advertised on their page at the time of purchase. So your not the only one that got that short stick Digital Damage(or long stick in this case hehe), I hated it so much I called Atlantic and said you didn’t advertise it with a NATO length stock in your ad , so ya’ll can either swap it out or I’ll just send it back. They sent me a Warsaw length.Hope MDT either gives you credit or lets you return it completely, keep us posted on what they do for you. I’m much more inclined to buy from a company that’s customer service will work with me down the line(Dillon precision) ,than some company that’s customer service just blows you off.(not going to mention which company that was as they have many die hard fans)
I think most of the length of pull misconceptions and issues stem from manufactures not understanding the LOP differs from a high-end shotguns to precision/semi-auto rifles. You do not do a lot of maneuvering or prone shooting with a 20k over under.
There are also scores of people that do not understand proper length of pull in the AR community either, I often see people with their length of pull too short and ridiculous “eye relief” mounts and their optics half way down the rifle.
I really like the stock, lots of innovation in it. I’m just sad the LOP is so wacky. I’ll come back and post if I was able to exchange it.
The XLR stocks looks like it will fit the bill nicely, I’m going to give that a try.
I just ordered the XLR Industries Tactical stock, they even swapped it to a shorter buffer tube free of charge. I’ll come back here with a report on it after the mail man drops it off.
