Normally I think the “OMG I just spit my beverage of choice all over my keyboard” posts are ridiculous, but I damn near did just that.
Wow.
The rail system wouldn’t be all that bad, with a real Aimpoint of course. Reputation be-damned, it’s all about profit now. What a shame. I love my Sig pistols, but hate the direction Cohen is forcing the company to go. Stuff like this really helps HK and the like.
That will go great with my pistol mounted bayonet!!!
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
That’s really, really bad.
About as cool as the cheesy Fobus holster and mag pouches that SA throws in with some of their XDs.
It’s for da beams yo.
if that’s the same red dot they ship with the 556 classic it’s a chinese made piece of shit. not even good for an airsoft !
What I don’t understand is that if they went this far with such a stupid product, why didn’t they go all out and make a damn quad rail out of it?
They’re saving that for the SHOT show…
It just goes to show that with the proper guidance even the best companies can find the sewer.
That’s nothing! Wait till some dipstick posts up here, looking for an IWB holster for it.
You can still put a light with a laser on the lower rail… or a bipod.
I bought one of those red dots for my GSG, that’s as much as I would trust it. Works OK.
Might be kind of fun with a 22lr slide on there.
That is almost as bad as the two-packs of P250 I’ve seen recently. Why change the modular gun, when we’ll just give you a second one free!!!
If only they included a holster for that setup…
If it was a little longer one could mount an MBUS set on it!
Why aren’t there side rails? Maybe they could be added so that a pair of XT rail panels could be mounted. How about a VFG? Better yet, the new Magpul Angled Foregrip. The possibilities are endless.
Sig has turn into that great friend you had in school that had it all going for them, then got into crack and look at where they are now:(
The majority of people to whom this is being marketed have no idea how low-quality that optic is. Nor are they concerned with the kind of ruggedness and environmental resistance that an Aimpoint or ACOG provides.
So for $200 you get to put a red-dot optic on your pistol in a fairly simple, non-permanent manner. While it won’t appeal to folks for duty/CCW guns, that’s not the point of the product nor the intended market. You’ll see them on fun/range guns, though, and I bet SIG sells a fair number of them.
I would at most pay $35 for that package.
I agree those dots are a Chinese made POS
I have a small gunshop in rural Alaska and have already had people ask me to order these for them.
I’m going to hold out for the upcoming LaRue/T1 combo for my SIG.
