Sig 9mm pistols

FYI…the 15rd Mec Gar P228 9mm mags run very well.

With the 15 rounders, the P228 comes close to the P226 and many other larger pistols in capacity.

Mec Gar also makes some factory mags for SIG pistols…they are quality mags.

If you want a 228, then buy a W. German/German 228 and not the M11A1 which isn’t close to “being used by Naval Aviation units”. The only thing 228 about it are the grips. It takes the newer mag that won’t even fit into the older 228/229 9mm Sigs. I own 2xW. German 228s and 1x228R(all German) and there is no comparison in terms of quality over newer Sigs. Like what was mentioned before, I won’t touch any thing Cohen is throwing out these days especially his Rainbow Brite guns.

Does a Sig have to be all German to be pre-Cohen? I’ve been running under the assumption that a Sig marked Sigarms instead of Sig Sauer was pre-Cohen even if the slide was made in the US, am I wrong?

Anything 2004 and prior is considered safe.

I must be very lucky, then. Of the four Sig pistols I bought since 2011 (still own three) with a combined 10,070 rounds through them they’ve had zero failures. My Sig 516 rifle runs great after over 4,000 rounds and two carbine classes under its belt.

YMMV

I run the Mec-Gar 18 round mags in my 226 9mm, flawlessly. Thought about a couple of Mec-Gar 20 rounder for range/training…

Just checked the case my 226 came in, dated 24 June 2010.

I’ve ran plenty of the Mec gar mags, flawless. I don’t have a Sig at the moment but have been longing for A P226 lately, shew!

Go for it. I doubt you will regret it. I recently dumped my Glocks for a 226. 19 rounds of sweetness. I’m very happy.
