Shouldn't have looked at AIM's website...

While killing a little time today I looked at AIM’s website, which always seems to get me in trouble. Well, to my surprise they now have genuine surplus Bulgarian AK-74 mags in stock in both black and brown colors. They also have Russian surplus mags for about $10 more. The price isn’t the cheapest I’ve seen, but considering the current political situation it’s not bad at all.

Just wanted to share with anyone else who wanted some more surplus mags in these troubling times.

(caution sarcasm to follow)
I hate you.
(end of sarcasm.)

Thank God I bought almost 100 of those when they are like $12.95 a magazine.

I was about to grab an Arsenal 5.45 when they where around that price but then the wife had some pretty expensive dental work come up. I was still going to buy some mags but ended up waiting. Stupid hurts. It hurts bad.

I still remember when East German 5.45 magazines were $4.95 from CDNN about 10 years ago.

I think I bought about 5 of the $20 Exc, condtion 4 packs which came with the East German magazine pouch. I think Brand New in the plastic 4 packs with pouch were $29 or something absurd like that.

Now they are $80 magazines. I really wish I had bought at least 20 four packs for $500.00. Actually wish I bought 40 so I could have sold half of them during the magazine frenzy.

I remember paying about $12 per new in the EG pouch 4 packs from What-a-country. I thought it was a ripoff when they went to $20, so I didn’t buy more.

Not that Aim is doing anything wrong given the current supply/demand situation, but I don’t see AK74 magazines staying at $40 each.

10 Years ago I was fifteen and unlike you wasn’t smart enough to realize that I would really appreciate a gun collection large enough to outfit a couple of swat teams and several companies of WWII soldiers. 6th months ago I was telling all my friends to buy whatever they could get there hands on, while I sat there broke as a joke, but they wouldn’t listen.

I’m in a similar situation. I’ve only started getting into black rifles about 2 years ago and naturally missed many great deals. The day the Aurora shooting took place I placed a an order with AIM for a number of Pmags but I kept stupidly putting off ordering some surplus AK magazines, and now I’m paying the price. Though I really have to hand it to the good folks at AIM. Their prices have stayed stable throughout everything that’s been going on and they made a loyal customer out of me.

I hope this madness is near the end. I need some 7.62 AK mags and desperately need 20rd 7.62 Pmags.

He who has the money will find what they are looking for.

I still have an unopened box of never issued factory Bulgarian Circle 10 brown AK-74 mags they dumped when they joined NATO and adopted 5.56. I picked them up for under $5 a mag from Ohio Rapid Fire circa 2006. I picked up another whole box of their used black factory Bulgarian Circle 10 four packs w/ mag pouches for next to nothing as well.

I do miss the Circle 10 “waffle mags” being $8.99. I cleaned up on those too. Guys like Chief Thunder undersold K-VAR/Arsenal back in the day otherwise we would never have had cheap mags like that. For you guys just getting into AKs, it’s sucks.

During the past 2 years, I spent a little bit of my budget each month on magazines (as well as ammo, parts etc…), just not for any of my AKs. I figure I could easily load 1000-1200 rounds into my AR magazines, I wish I could say the same for my AKs. I am woefully low on the AK magazine count. Shoulda, woulda, coulda is a terrible excuse.

Try living close to aim. Gets me in trouble too often.

Lucky, I live close to ‘Cheaper Than Dirt’ . . .

At least we have DSG Arms too.

I ordered 8 of the Magpul .308 magazines 12/31/12 and
got them 02/08/13 from DSG Arms. They will let you backorder
them and don’t charge your card until they ship.
