I’m not sure I know anyone that has been stationed in Germany and didn’t love it.
I got there in 1981 and left a week before 1990, it get’s really old after a while. I have no Idea what it was like after 1990 after but:….
No matter how much we tried to Help; the Germans quit helping themselves. I watched a German Lady feed all the West German Border Patrol Guards, actually got her on film doing it.
You know at that point I was like F’ her, F’ all the Germans and I hope that She poisoned those Bastards accidently and gets charged for it.
Then as Blade 68 mentioned on Post the German Government charged us millions in disposal fees everytime we had anything amiss. Oil Stain on Concrete was one of the major abuses. Soil Tests were given and fines were levied.
As an example the cost to replace a Computer monitor was 3 times the normal expense because of the enviromentle fines for disposal. The German Government was fining us everytime we turned around.
It was hard to deal with shit like that on a weekly basis.
They just used us as an ATM.

Well they woould one day fine you for something, recieve the Money for the damage, then tear the building down.
