Should I SBR my Noveske lower?

Just wanted some opinions on what you guys would do. I have an LMT registered SBR done by way of the trust route(form 1). I am thinking about going the same route with a consecutive seriel # Noveske C series lower( my dad has the other one). I already have two 16inch LMT carbines to cover the longer barrel needs. Just trying to adhere to the two is one on all my SHTF firearms. Would you do it or get another lower to build on?

Yeah of course. You don’t plan on selling it do you?

I SBR’d my only Noveske. It’s nice to have a nice lower as your SBR.

No. You are right. Just needed to hear it.

if the question is being asked, the answer is always “yes.”

go forth and chop, young man.

Send that form 1 now before postal rates go up, again!

If I had a Noveske lower, I would SBR it in a heartbeat. May your wait and your barrel be short!

I SBRed my N4…

I don’t post here much BUT I did SBR my hand picked serial numbered Noveske AND Laurer lowers then took the real plunge and got me a M16A1.

No I need to buy a non SBR receiver to take to non NFA states (Iowa is right next door but doesn’t allow any NFA items.

DO IT! You know you want to… :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d do it in a heartbeat. I’m going to spend the extra money for a decent rollmark for my SBR project when I get ready to do it… I just don’t feel like paying for a complete lower, and I won’t have the money before I turn 21 (October) so I guess I’ll wait until then and get a stripped one.

Now the question is where to get it from… :stuck_out_tongue:

I picked up a stripped Noveske lower from this forum and I didn’t hesitate to make it my SBR lower. I think you should do it.

I feel better about it now. Looks like the government is going to get some more of my money.

Yeah, you’ll have to wait until you are 21 anyway to file the Form1.

By “rollmark” do you mean engraving? It’s not all the expensive to have it done right but if you buy a cheapy lower, then it’ll probably cost more to engrave then to buy the receiver.

I think that I payed about $70.00 total from Orion Arms last year.

Yeah, when I say “cheapy” I mean even less than that. I have seen (and I am really halff tempted to buy one, ugly markings and all) lowers for $60. I’m horribly tempted to get one since I just need a non-NFA for trips to “unfriendly” states.

That is cheap as it gets.

As far as engraving, I had mine done by the same folks that did JTrustys, they use a laser and it looks amazing. I will have to find the e-mail to get the name of the company.

Here are a couple of the “Cheapies” I was referring too. These are the “regular” priced receivers BUT they go on special occasionally for even less.

These are the cheapest I have ever seen

*DISCLAIMER: I HAVE NO AFFILIATION with these vendors or products. Just posting since I talked about them and someone who doesn’t need “top tier” lowers might want to take advantage of a good deal

Form 1 or a Form 4 private sale is 18, just like a handgun.

That is what I did to my Noveske lower. Now it is my favorite gun… I want to get a second one to do it all over again, but in 12.5" this time. I don’t know if this disease is good or bad… It sure is fun though.
