Short Stroking BCM Middie

I have a brand new build that I took out today and it was short stroking on about every third round. Unfortunately, I only had a few boxes of Tula in my trunk when I left so I wasn’t able to try any better ammo today.

Here are the pertinent specs:

16" BCM Mid-length Upper
BCM M16 BCG
Tactical Springs Buffer Spring - Blue
Spike’s Tactical ST-T2 Heavy Buffer

Ammo: Tula 55gr.FMJ

My initial reaction is that the 4.3oz ST-2 buffer is too much for the middie, especially with weaker ammo.

Would you agree with this assessment? If so, would you drop to an H or C buffer? What buffer do you find works best with a wide range of ammo in a BCM middie?

I am going to take it to the range tomorrow and do a more thorough evaluation.

First, that ammo is under pressured. Second, you shouldn’t use anything more than an H buffer (if that).
