What are the regulations or restrictions of shipping ammunition to CA? I recently sold some ammo and the purchaser is in Monterey Park, CA and I want to complete the sale in compliance with the law. Any info or links would be appreciated. Thanks.
You can ship ammo to CA. The law, AB962 that you are thinking of hasn’t taken effect yet. You cannot ship by mail to certain cities, Los Angeles being an example. Monterey Park is outside of Los Angeles, but in L.A. County so there shouldn’t be a problem.

Even when it takes effect, AB962 is only for handgun ammo, IIRC.

Correct on hangun ammo only per AB962, but if you have an C&R FFL and a COE you can have it shipped to you anyway.

The Ordinance in question is #180447. Deals done must be face to face, fingerprinted, and recorded. Because it doesn’t specify that it only applies to vendors within city limits, many take it to read ALL businesses anywhere. Talk about letting government effect things beyond their scope…
Looking forward to the City of Los Angeles going after an out of state seller/vendor/private party selling ammo into Los Angeles as a violation of a City Ordinance. That will be a fun case. 
Plenty of vendors telling the City to pound sand and shipping anyway.
