shipping a rifle and pistol?

is it legal to ship a rifle and a pistol to yourself at a differant address in a differant state, in a locked pelican case. i ask because im going on leave some where else and would like to shoot my new toys i bought while i was home. if its legal what shipping service would you use USPS or UPS? if i remember correctly only UPS ships firearms.

I used UPS to ship firearms to my gunsmith (FFL). No prob. Just let them know there is a firearm inside.
Also you need to bring it to the main station.
