SGL20 and SGL21 What's the difference?

Can’t figure out what is different between these 2 models from Arsenal. Anyone?

The SGL21 has an “accessory lug” used for mounting the Russian version of the M203. The SGL20 does not have the accessory lug. Both models DO HAVE the bayonet lug.

Interesting that the answer for the difference between the SGL20 and SGL21 came from someone with the name “OneUp”, which is literally the answer to the question.

Yes, probably not an addition that I’d ever benefit from realistically. Would be fun though! Man my VZ savings are starting to suffer from some AK desire! :eek:

Between the SLR and the 20 and 21 is the only difference the folding stock?

Neither of them have folding stocks.

From looking at the K-VAR website it appears that the folding SLR’s are built with Bulgarian receivers and barrels, while the SGL’s are Russian. I don’t know if their quality is the same, but from what I’ve read the Arsenal builds are a good thing. The folder is appealing to me for the obvious reasons but don’t know a thing about the different stocks or how they shoot and handle.

Arsenal SLR series rifles are Bulgarian; SGL series rifles are Russian in origin. There are no SGL folders. However, the SLR107FR and the SLR107CR are available with a great polymer folding stock. The SLR107CR (pic below) is particularly neat as it is one of the few rifles available that is close to the modern AK104 configuration.

Personally I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Arsenal rifles.

Triangular metal folding stocks are not all that comfortable, even when wrapped with paracord.
The folding polymer stocks are ok, and would be my choice for an AK folder.
Of course, I still say the fixed Warsaw length stocks are THE way to go on an AK.

I think the SGL21 has a Russian FSB, while the SGL20 is Bulgarian (?).

What differences have you found between the polymer folder and the Warsaw length polymer stock?

I’ve owned AKs with both, and to me the only difference is that one of them folds.
