Seymore Hersh claims Bin Laden raid was faked

Anyone pick up on this?
Published in London Review of Books.
Anything that outrageous in relatively mainstream media (as opposed to national enquirer) makes me go hmmm.
If there are s any truth whatsoever this could be damaging beyond our imagination on so many levels it makes me shiver. Really.
What do you guys think?

Nah. MF’er is dead.

In this book it is stated that the corpse that got a burial at sea finger prints did not match what the FBI had on file for OBL.

We will NEVER know the entire truth of anything with our .gov at the helm. Subterfuge, disinformation, controlled leaks, et al. rules the day.

I think so too but killed in the raid? I dunno…

Plus he would have come out and made himself known by now, or his people would have. Technology makes the world all too small anymore.

Unless he was already dead and those people kept up that he was alive to maintain a leader for thier cause.

They love marters

Why else expend the tech and resources?

Guess my “Greatest Generation” WWII veteran father was right: “Don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.”

But then he was an optomist to the last.

while they love martyrs they do not love the US killing them or other things happening to them so if he died in non battle or some stupid thing they would try to hide it I would think big time !

no idea I dont trust our gov at all anymore so who knows

As much as I dislike the current administration, this is pushing the limits of conspiracy nut bag garbage.

Really want this to be Tin-Foil hat thing but having a real hard time with it. If - and i must say IF this turns out to be a more correct version of what really happened this will have repercussions on so many levels, especially with elections this will have collateral damage.
Movies, documentaries, all those virtues extolled… what would the fall out really be? Just to name one- looking up to/appreciating those teams-guys, that got the job done?
From the government and all those floating in that cesspool I expect no less but hope for better - just another filthy lie shoving down our dumb throats - but having a group of people who we hold in high regard play along and basically be co-conspirators?
I REALLY have a hard time swallowing all this.
So very much hope this is just another ‘anonymous source’ SNAFU, some Paki intelligence really messing with our heads (divide and conquer), throw garbage at some has-been once relevant journalist looking for a final last blowout before slipping into the amnesia mist of history.

Unfortunately this is how most big things start. Kinda ignoring, wait n see posturing, hope this will go away by itself (which it wont).
No laws were broken, but a lot of honor and character will be destroyed. People will be pissed and rightfully so.
Tragic and heartbreaking sad.
The only words I can come up with.

Transcript of interview with Seymore Hersh. Yes its ‘liberal radio’ - don’t kill the messenger…

We’ll see more I’m sure.

Here’s the issue with that theory: If they had killed him at Tora Bora, the Bush Administration would have made hay with that. There would be absolutely no reason not let the American people know they had killed the 9/11 mastermind only a few months after the attacks.

I almost never believe in conspiracy theories. There’s too many people responsible to cover things that big up. In a small, tight knit community like the SEALs where pretty much everyone knows each others’ business, not a single one of them has come out and said that no Bin Laden raid ever took place? As Ben Franklin said, three can keep a secret if two of them are dead.

Also, there’s no way in heaven or hell that a government that couldn’t keep the lid on whistleblowers for things like Benghazi and Fast and Furious could cover up something like this.

He is actually suggesting something far different.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seymour_Hersh#Death_of_Osama_bin_Laden

He made the claim that the Obama administration lies systematically, and that American media outlets are reluctant to challenge the administration, saying “It’s pathetic, they are more than obsequious, they are afraid to pick on this guy [Obama]”.[33] Hersh later clarified that the lying began in the aftermath of bin Laden’s death.[34]

In May 2015, Hersh published the 10,000 word piece “The Killing of Osama bin Laden” in the London Review of Books on the fourth anniversary of the Abbottabad raid that killed bin Laden (Operation Neptune Spear). Hersh outlined with extensive quoting of both named and unnamed sources the background to how bin Laden’s presence in Abbotabad came to be known to the US Government and how the Seal raid was in fact known to the Pakistanis and had ISI cooperation.

Hersh alleges the US government’s narrative was in fact an elaborate cover story meant to conceal Pakistan’s relationship with the Al Qaeda leader and to yield maximum political payoff for President Barack Obama in the runup to the 2012 election season: “The killing was the high point of Obama’s first term, and a major factor in his re-election. The White House still maintains that the mission was an all-American affair, and that the senior generals of Pakistan’s army and Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI) were not told of the raid in advance. This is false, as are many other elements of the Obama administration’s account. The United States got to Osama bin Laden with Pakistan’s help but disclosed the operation in a manner that made the country look like a villain.”

I actually find much of the Hersch story very credible. It seems fare more likely than not that ISI was aware of OBL’s presence in the compound given its close proximity to their military academy. It also seems very reasonable that they (ISI) would be more than willing to sellout OBL at the opportune time.

I suppose that much of the heartburn comes from the notion that SEALs would be complicit in the coverup if Hersh is correct. However, Operation Neptune Spear was going to be dangerous no matter how OBL was served up by the ISI. It was a night op using new technology (stealth UH60) with an unknown number of hostile OBL family/friends on the compound. The notion that the raid was somehow easy because the ISI helped is laughable. Besides, most of the SEALs did their job, kept their mouth shut, and did not contribute to the administration’s narrative. Only a couple of stand-outs broke their oath by speaking publicly about the raid. It is not the SEAL community’s job to challenge the administration’s BS stories. They put bullets in heads and its all the better for America if people think that it can be done under the nose of the ISI.

What did they do with “the courier’s” body? Wife? The other targets?

Hmm, by the same dude that claimed JSOC was full of Catholic secret society assassins (seriously).

They left them behind. There were photos taken by Pakistanis of the dead via cell phone.

I assume nothing.
