Set Screw or Pinned?

I’m looking at the BCM SS 1/8 barrel. The barrel has only a notch for a Gas Block setscrew like this:

Would the Stag Arms Low Profile Gas Block be high enough quality to rely on? Od DO I need a Vltor, Larue, etc.?:

I’m gonna have ADCO do it. Is it better for accuracy and reliability to have it pinned by adco, like this:

The Stag gas block is fine. I actually prefer them to other brands.

Pinning is always going to be more secure than the set screw/dimple method. If the block is going to be under a rail, dimpling is probably good enough, provided you use a high-temp thread locker like Rocksett.

Personally, I like the peace of mind of pinning. I’ve had ADCO do this on a couple of my barrels.

I like VLTOR, LaRue, Troy and Midwest Industries low pro gas blocks. Pinned ‘Is the way’.
