The tax reform idea would generate an overall revenue increase in the range of perhaps $1 trillion over the coming decade.
I don’t see how a INCREASE in taxes collected by the Fed is a good thing.
Too much spending is the problem. Sending more money is not the solution … regardless of who pays it.

Plan doesn’t touch Social Security? Failed before it started.
Lower tax rates but does away with various write offs? If it is revenue neutral why bother rewriting the tax code? If it is revenue positive who ends up paying more taxes after the changes?
Well we can’t keep dodging Social Security forever. It sucks that no one is willing to take on such a major issue, but then again it’s not called “The third rail of politics” for nothing. It’s pretty much political suicide.
Which makes me think of several people that should introduce it . . . :sarcastic:
