Selling the 870 for an M4

Another vote to keep it and get an AR. You never know when these laws are going to change against us.

Benelli fellas…I think was the one who misunderstood and got off track and started this trend…Benelli he was looking at

If I could have an 870 or an M4 but NOT BOTH, I would choose the M4 in a second.

Glad you kept the 870. The M4 is a sweet shotgun but the 870 offers a lot too. I have a rifled bbl a 28" and a 21" turkey bbl all for the same gun.

My dad and I each owned M4s that malfunctioned. I’ll stick with my 870P in a heartbeat. Right now, though, I’m looking to get a 590A1 with an 18.5" barrel. It’ll take one extra round over my 870 (7+1 instead of 6+1).

There is a huge price difference too. Spare parts avalibility is always something to think about.

I wouldn’t trade my Benelli M1 for 2 or 3 870’s… I love it.

We’ve had an M1 for about 15 years, and it’s outstanding. The two M4s we had were total garbage jam-o-matics.

Thanks for the replies, keeping the 870, just sold the stock and bought a hogue for it. Actually after shooting with chokes and clays I got super addicted and am thinking of purchasing an o/u like a browning bt-99. Glad I kept old reliable, the fun is older than me but doesn’t look it, mainly because jd re parkerized it.

I love the M4…

I would keep the 870. They don’t bring much used; even with the goodies. Plus, they are extremely reliable. I sold one years ago and missed it so much I wound up buying another. My vote is to keep it and but the M4 also!

I agree 100%. If you already put that much time and $$$ into the 870 I’d hold on to it and pick up a nice M4. That way you can play with the shotty and rifle.

I’m still amazed at how many people still think the OP is talking about an M4 carbine. I take back what I said earlier. Sell the 870 and get the BENELLI M4 SHOTGUN.:big_boss:

I knew that the OP was talking about the Benelli but I was suggesting keeping the 870 and picking up a M4 style rifle… that way he has two types of gun to practice with.
