SEI can questions?

Gents i have contacted Smith Enterprises directly about this but they are a might busy and have up to a 2 week backlog on answering emails so thought i would ask here.

Does anyone know if the SEI can will attach directly to an older SEI vortex flash supressor or does it specifically have to be an “Direct Connect” model?

What the hell is the diference? They appear to look very similar. Im getting ready to head statside for a bit here shortly and am trying to get some parts questions answered so i can move forward with a few projects on the backburner.

Any help would be much appreciated.

My understanding is that some of the older models have sligtly different tolerences in the channel behind the prongs, which is where the little wing deals go before you close the threaded part of the can, and thats what holds it in place…

Kinda hard to explain but pretty damn neat if you see it… I wanted to get a smith can in both calibers myself, but they never did answer my inquires.
