Does anyone have any experience with these products? The liquid and paste smell like FrogLube, I just would like to know how it compares. Pros and Cons on both, of you have experience comparing the two. I have used FL, but SEAL 1 is much less expensive.

I have limited exp with seal 1, non with frog lube. I got a sample pack(looked like a ketchup pack). It was good. Not enough product for me to make a switch.
I have been told(maybe incorrectly) that Seal 1 was started by one of the original Frog Lube guys.
Just started to use a sample of the Seal 1 from SHOT… so far so good. The carbon breakup is excellent, smell is more than tolerable. To soon to go pro or con on this, but leaning to the favorable.
It’s basically Froglube premium except orange. Priced somewhat less, too.
Try using the ORANGE search button. Numerous lube threads and discussions about Froglube and comparing to SEAL 1.

I am running Fireclean, best stuff on the market
We been using SEAL 1 for over a year with no issues. Think of it as froglube 1.25. Same inventor as FL. Some changes but both FL and SEAL are good to go IMHO. I talked with the the guy who came up with the formulas for FL and SEAL, and he claims that Seal is an improved version, but FL was not interested in the upgrade. Still, both are GTG, it is just a matter of cost for us, and SEAL is cheaper.
I haven’t tried Seal 1, just frog lube. Got a few sample packets at a gun show. Ran it in my LMT upper. Did OK the first few times. Last time to my outdoor range, temps in 40s, the bolt wouldn’t go into battery after firing a shot. Happened several times, all with the first round from a magazine. Finally I stripped off the FL and wet it down w/ CLP. Was GTG from then on.
I realize this is a very small sample size, but … I’ve heard it didn’t work well in cold temps (gelling?). I didn’t think that 40s were all that cold.
At least in my environment (which is southern VA, so go figure), I’m not completely sold on FL. If Seal 1 is an updated version, I wouldn’t mind trying it, but I wouldn’t trust it 100% right out of the package.
I have run both Fireclean and FrogLube down to -25F in several AR’s and it hasn’t caused an issue at all. Very weird that 40F would cause an issue. I liberally coat my BCG’s, but I do spread it around pretty thin. With Froglube and Fireclean it doesn’t need to be dripping off.
FIREclean sounds real nice, but that stuff is crazy expensive. I may just have to try it out eventually.

It seems crazy expensive, but you end up using so little to get the job done that it works out in the end. I literally use about 6 drops before each outing. Carbon and other shit just wipes off after a shooting session, then I lube again. This is definitely lube you don’t need to have dripping off your rifle.
Its not much more than Seal 1, and as AKDoug said, you use less and it makes everything run super smooth, like all the parts have been polished
Yeah, I was confused by it too. Btw, used the paste- not sure if that was the problem. Applied with fingertip, seemed the same as other times, but maybe on too thick? Either way, after pulling my rifle apart twice at the bench to see what the problem was, I got fed up and wiped it off. Is the liquid better?
I have not used the paste…so that could be it. You really do only need a light coating.
I had corrosion issues with froglube premium, and seal 1 tests about identical in my testing, so I use neither. Scott Lee is the brains behind all of those products out of his company.
I am using both and have had great results. I will continue to use them. When I run out, then I will look for the best price on either one.

The SEAL 1 booth at SHOT Show had a Sig that was kept in a small tank of water. It was lubed up with SEAL 1 obviously and even with all that water, it hand cycled very smoothly. I forgot how long the guy said that particular pistol had been tanked, but it was for quite a while (many many weeks). I don’t know if I believe it, but from what felt, it seemed to work well.
Could you elaborate a little more on the corrosion issues that you were having? Was the corrosion actually caused by the product? What were the circumstances under which you noticed corrosion? Thanks.
Location: Fayetteville, AR to Shreveport, LA
Timeframe: 72 hours
Products used: MK318 SOST, Noveske N4, Surefire FA556-212, Froglube Paste premium and CLP premium, Microfiber cloth.
I fired roughly 120 rounds during about an hour at the range in humid environ under shelter. Then I travelled to a friend’s house, broke the weapon down, and wiped the previously very generously lubed BCG off component by component with the microfiber.
A light sheen remained on parts, they looked wet/dark. I then placed the rifle back in a sip-up case, and transported it to another friend’s house where I took it out, placed it leaning in a closet, and went to bed. The next day it went back into the zip-case and travelled home with me. I took it inside upon arriving, and placed it in the closet. That night (I am awake nights, not days, normally), I broke it down for a full cleaning.
It was then that I observed multiple orange freckles on the bolt-tail, which upon being wiped with FL and a microfiber remained as dark discolorations upon the shiny tail of the bolt.
I discontinued use of the Froglube and had no further issues with the rifle even with MUCH harsher treatment. I refuse to use Froglube given my above experience, as there are better products on the market all-around. I currently use MPro7-LPX and it has performed admirably in 1500+ round torture tests (VTAC course, 0 rifle-related failures over 3 days with no lube or cleaning after initial shot fired.), and leaving the rifle uncleaned for weeks. Great product.
