Scumbag Youtube - LAV

Screwtube continues to get paid on ad revenue after de-monitizing LAV’s channel. Yeah! Bad LAV, but we’re still making money off you!

As of a few days ago, YouTube was still running pre-roll advertisements on his videos, according to a review by NBC News. On Friday, after questions from NBC News, YouTube said in a statement that it had suspended Vickers’ YouTube channel from its paid-partner program, meaning the channel could no longer make money on the platform. YouTube cited a policy requiring paid creators to remain responsible online and offline and avoid behavior that harms others. The company said such behavior by paid creators is rare.

LAV should move all his videos to Rumble or whatever and delete the Youtube stuff. F them.

Not the first time I’ve read of this shady shit from those scumbags.

I would be fascinated by the intellectual property/legal implications of this.

I don’t get it. What’s the problem with YouTube running ads on Vickers’ videos? Ads on non-monetized accounts has been a thing for years now. I mean, okay, Vickers isn’t getting paid anymore, but by leaving his videos up on YouTube, he is still using up YouTube’s resources, and Vickers ain’t paying YouTube for video hosting costs. Why shouldn’t YouTube be running ads to recoup their cost? Or are y’all saying that Vickers should get a handout, while everyone else’s videos still has ads?

I think it’s about the whole hypocrisy thing. Their stance is that LAV’s videos among others violate their standards and therefore aren’t worthy of getting paid. Yet the same awful community violating videos are worthy of YouTube making bank.

If I were LAV I’d pull all my content so as not to give YT the ability to generate revenue. However, I think he has bigger fish to fry right now.

How is it hypocrisy? Vickers is using YouTube resources, without paying a dime. Is YouTube suppose to just give Vickers free use of their video hosting? Most video can have ads on YouTube, regardless of monetization, the only ones that don’t are actually the ones that are the most extreme and controversial (due to advertiser blowback); why would Vickers be given an exception to this? If anything, no ads would be a more resounding indictment of Vickers from YouTube.

The sense of entitlement for the free use of resources is astounding to me. There are plenty of legitimate criticisms as to how YouTube treats creators, but this is not one of them.

Defaultmp3 understands how it works.

In the larger picture, it’s not as simple as Vickers pulling all vids from Vickers Tactical YouTube channel. A great many vids begin with this.

It’s hypocrisy because YT says “LAV bad, can’t pay him money”, but they don’t pull down or restrict his videos. They lack the courage of their convictions, which is pretty much SOP for most social media companies to be fair.

Most gun channels were demonetized years ago. Youtube and Google generally are all flipping commies.

If you are still using gmail, you are literally insane. They store and read everything you send so they can target your with advertising. Their search engine works the same way, so you’re just as insane if you use the google search engine.

Take back your fricken privacy and just say no to those commie bastards.

I’ll watch youtube videos, but will never have an account on anything google related.

ETA: You are literally funding your own demise by continuing this behavior.

Yeah, but they are simply the worst offenders. If you are on the internet with any device you are funding companies that stand against everything you believe.

It’s literally this fukking simple.

Google owns YouTube.

Which is why I don’t have an account.

When watching YouTube vids with ads the user is funding YouTube and the owner, Google. Whether or not the user has a Google account doesn’t change that.

On the other hand, I can’t think of many non-firearm related operations that have been used more to advertise, teach, and generally promote the firearms industry than Youtube.

Several years ago Full30 was being promoted as the YouTube alternative for gun owners. Can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a video link to Full30 on M4C or even mentioned. However, Youtube vids are quite popular on M4C.

Regardless of your views on YouTube and its politics, it still remains the largest distributor of firearms related video content in the world. Nothing comes even close. The amount of information and entertainment out there (good and bad) is astounding.

That is sorta my point. Even if somebody created a “freedom version” of something. The support for it won’t exist.

This. If it violates your community standards then it violates standards and you shouldn’t have anything to do with it. Not we will gladly profit off of it, but just won’t pay you kind of bad.

You either have standards or you don’t. Pick one. Kind of what we teach kids.

Google has google standards. And you’ve seen what they teach kids.
