Colleges can no longer use race as a factor in Admissions.
I saw this in it’s infancy and it has never made sense to me.
They also reversed a previous ruling on religious liberty in a 9:0 decision. The removed the “de minims” standard which will help religious people receive accommodation from their employers.
This is huge… especially if it ends affirmative action hiring, promotions

I’ve honestly never worked somewhere where a white person was passed over for a less qualified “minority”. But I’ll never forget watching Family Feud where a black woman admitted to being an incompetent Engineer who was “messing up cars” in her prior job with an Auto Maker. Infuriating that we have to deal with garbage products because companies put less qualified people in positions because they’re not white.
When I was in College, they’d bend over backwards to help anyone who wasn’t a white male to get their program of study on track. If you were a white guy, you were almost on your own to figure out their bureaucracy.
I believe the decision is narrow to only apply to college admissions since the suit was against Harvard and UNC

You cannot tell me that with two completely equal candidates, one white and one not, that race isn’t the deciding factor in favor of the minority so that “diversity” is maintained. Now schools are going to have to justify these decisions and they are freaking out. Love it!

My neice was valedictorian of her high school class carrying a 4.0 through out middle and high school and we have some Indian blood in the family, she was still declined.
I worked at UNC Chapel Hill, and I grew up in town just a few minutes north. It was a not so secret secret that getting in was easy if you were non-white, non-male. They also have a quota system for each county in North Carolina, I know kids with 1400 SATs, captain of this and president of that, who couldn’t get in, but a black female with half the scores and none of the extracurriculars would get in on first pass. In our high school yes statistically higher chance of getting in to Harvard than you did UNC which was 8 minutes down the road.
I had a classmate who got into the Navy academy, West Point, Princeton, and Duke, but got rejected from UNC Chapel Hill.
Not all minorities and Democrats are lamenting the end of affirmative action. Asians will be glad to see it go.
Honestly, not much will change. Schools and employers can’t favor certain races and groups now, but the “most qualified” candidates will still “coincidentally” fit the demographics they’re looking for.
Agreed. It will be no time before they get back into gear and find passive aggressive ways to end run their bullshit on us. But now they have this “headline” to bandy about come election time along with the abortion BS. So they may be screaming out in the streets but Inside they are full of glee, their victim status has been freshly renewed.

I was passed over on a USFS job in 1994 because I was a white guy. The human resources lady at Oregon State University lamented how she couldn’t find a black guy to work in the eastern Oregon forests. F*** affirmative action then and now. Good riddance!

I applied for a Heavy Equipment Operator position in 1979 within the Union, I was taken aside and told I was neither Black, Hispanic or a Woman, so I didn’t stand a chance to get the job. Right there at the hiring event.
Now mind you this is in Arizona, so they weren’t going to have a problem finding a Hispanic Women to fill those four slots, but a Black Guy? Not in Arizona in 1979.
I spent considerable effort to make it to Tucson for that interview, to be told that was a kick in the nutz.
That someone has missed a shot at Harvard or MIT because they had the wrong melinin count? I think I would lose it.

That this is limited to a certain number of schools, certainly not the Majority of schools and the Left is having a fit only means they’ve been caught in another of their scams and can no longer get away with it.
This ruling will slowly chip away at Afirmative Action at all levels and once again allow us all to play on the same level playing field.
This was a bad law that Sandra Day O’Connor predicted would come to an end.
This applies to every school moving forward, and will apply to federal funding.

Only about a dozen schools were using this method. It may apply to all, but was in limited use.
