Scoping my DSA FAL

I have a fixed stock DSA FAL, with a DSA Extreme Duty top cover scope base.
Looking at mounting a new Leupold patrol scope, 1.25x4 power, 30mm tube. Would like to use a Larue QD mounts/rings, but not sure which height or model to go with.

Any suggestions or experiences ?

Probably want to go with some low rings so your cheek weld is not turned into a chin weld.

This is the 3x9 Patrol in .87" Medium Seekins Rings on the DSA mount, if that helps. The rear lugs were milled off for a different scope - IIRC, it would not need the rear lugs removed for the VXR to clear with the .87" ring height.

I’m not sure if LaRue even makes a QD this low, but as mentioned - the lower the better for a decent cheek wield. Mine is on a different rifle and mount now and mounted even lower than in the pic.

I haven’t checked into that line of leupold scopes…what reticle does it come with or reticle options?

It’s a TMR (mill & .5 mil hash marks) reticle, though not quite the same as the Mk4 version. Turrets are 1/10 mil. Glass is good, not great - will have to see how it holds up on a FAL. Turrets are a bit mushy feeling, but tracking appears very good so far.
