I am thinking of getting a new AUG. Living in a state with a local AWB, I want one that accepts AR magazines. What are my choices given the current production AUG from MSAR and Steyer ?
What are the different pros and cons of different manufactures/versions.

Not knowing what your AWB entails, we can’t recommend anything. Is it based on CA? Is there a prohibited list?
My AWB is based on the old Federal one. Magazines > 10 manufactured pre 94, only one evil feature on a semi auto rifle with a detachable magazine.
The new AUG’s (MSAR, etc) are ban compliant so my only concern is getting a stock that works reliably with AR mags.
I think you can order AWB State compliant MSARs.
Pete Athens at PJ’s can help you out with this. He has an AUG A3 NATO package that accepts AR15/M16 mags. He also has the best prices on the AUG A3.

YOu either need to get an Aug A3 with a nato stock (from Pete) or a Microtech E4, which takes AR mags.
I have an aug and love it, but I’m running standard aug mags. A buddy has an e4 and loves it too and the stock has some changes over the aug stock that some may find compelling. If I was dependant on AR mags, I’d probably get an e4.
