scar preventative maintance

In the one year that ive owened my scar 16s ive fried around 4600 rnds through it and was wondering what the life expectancy is on various springs and such. For example i replace extractor springs and gas rings on my ar’s at 5k rounds. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

While we are at it, how about SCAR 17s as well.
Thanks

When I spoke to Bob at FNH before he was “retired,” he told me that there should be no need to replace anything before 10,000 rounds. He said at 10,000 rounds, you might want to change the gas rings, though you may not have to. He said that the bolt should last as long as the barrel, but that there have been some failures of the extractor at the 15,000-ish round count.

Not sure that helps, but there ya go.

All I want to know is where I can get the best deal on a torque wrench that does 62 inch pounds.

I know some people are using the Wheeler electronic one, but I’ve seen some feedback that it’s kind of crappy and only has 10-inch pound increments:

I’m still debating on whether I roll the dice and get one of these or pony up the money for an adjustable Seekonk at about 3-4 times this price (Think Brownell’s has them for around $180). You can also get a Seekonk directly from them that just does 62 inch pounds for a hair about $100 I think, but if I’m spending that I rather spend the extra and get an adjustable one I can use for other things.

Oil areas of friction, and move on.
