scar availability?

has anyone heard about the availability of the scar these days for civilian purchase? everytime i see one, i find myself in a puddle of slobber.

Not yet. Who knows when. Sometime in 2009 best guess, and I would consider that optimistic.

If Obamination wins, you can forget about all the new stuff. I’d love to get a SCAR L AND H. I ordered a DSA FAL a while back and I’m still waiting on it. I’m beginning to fear I may never get it.

My DSA OSW took 6 months to get from DSA, and 6 1/2 more weeks to get my tax stamp. I understand your pain.

The Scar heavy is very interesting to me also, along with the Magpul/Bushmaster Massoud.

It’s my big fear after shelling out a whole crapload of dough on the DSA. If Obamination wins and DSA can’t ship my rifle, and FN hasn’t released the SCAR, what the heck is left for me to grab before everything’s gone? I guarantee that, regardless of all the talk of the 1996 Gun Owner Revolution, Obama and the other sniveling cronies in Washington will attempt to ban all types of semi-auto rifles. Just check the current bill that’s been sitting in the House waiting for a vote. M1 Carbine you say? Assault weapon, according to Congresswoman McCarthy and other gun grabbers. Goodbye United States. Hello United Communist States of Obamania. :mad::mad::mad:

FN SCAR-L

Don’t put a whole lot of stock in the FN “reps”. Seems that there has been alot of false hopes spread on the net from FN “reps” or dealers or the “I know a guy” types. Look back as far as three years ago where the SCAR in civilian versions were “right around the corner”, or “1st quarter of next year.”
Bottom line is, SOCOM will get their guns first, plus all the depot level / armory repair / replacement parts. That is once FNMI is in full swing and producing SCAR’s in the numbers similar to M16A4’s and 249’s, and will have to provide SOCOM with tens of thousands. If any other military group wants it on the contractual coat tails, they will get theirs second, not civilian versions.
It will be awhile, you have plenty of time to save your pennies.

Everyone will keep hearing…early next quarter, Late 08’- then late 09’.
NOBODY will be able to narrow down a “delivery date”, The reps keep EVERYONE chomping at the bit…don’t hold your breath.

I’ve pre-planned my entire day for Nov 4th and I am most assuredly going to vote… Too bad it won’t help us gun owners much since I live in NY (damn it). Let’s hope intelligent people prevail and aren’t suckered in to this Obamination bullcrap. VOTE MCCAIN!:mad:
