Just wanted to give credit to Ident Marking Services. I just received my ar receiver back from them and the work is perfect. Clean block letters, very legible, and perfectly aligned. Fast turn around and for a reasonable fee. I opted for engraving under the trigger guard and it looks great.

How long was the turn-around time?
They are quoting 4 to 6 weeks right now. I’m real interested in just how long the OP’s lower took as I have a lower with Ident right now. They received it on the 28th of February.
I have a lower there as well. Over the phone prior to sending it in they stated the turn around is more like 2-3 weeks “or less” currently.
They recv’d mine on 2/21. So the OP’s response re: turn around time will be telling… For both of us.
That’s like half the time the web site says I like that. Have you heard anything from them?
My FFL / SOT friend had a lower done by Ident in January of this year and it was back in less than 4 weeks.
It looks GREAT as well, he had front of the magwell done and you have to look right at it to see it.
Not yet. I’m in no hurry (don’t get me wrong, the sooner the better). I’m hoping this week or early next.
I just had some engraving done by another place, and it was fantastic, and same day turn around!!!
Once I get my lower back from Ident, all compre the two (quality, turn-around, CS, cost, etc.).
Don’t forget to engrave your examiner’s name now. It’s a new “reg” from ATF!
Stirring the pot. ![]()
It’s more than just the name… I’m glad they are allowing the abbreviation of the word “favorite” to “fav”… phew!!!
Here’s mine is being engraved with:
“Family Trust
Minneapolis, MN
Examiner: Sarah Smith
Examiner Hire Date: 04/23/2007
Examiner ID# 445M623
Examiner fav. food: Pizza”
Very good. Glad to see people doing it right for a change!![]()
LOL!!
+1, Ident Marking Services. It was recommended to me, by a buddy of mine that had his SBR lower and DIY .223 monocore can engraved. I also got mine done before Texas legalized hunting with suppressors which I’m sure increased their turn around times. The engraving is more of a side business for Jason, as his background is primarily with microelectronics, lenses, optics, and lasers in development of night vision or thermal devices.
Am I the only bum that has engraved his own lower? Chocked it up in my vice, and took my time with a carbide tiped etcher and a magnifying visor. Looks like crap but it cost me nothing. It shoots good too.:big_boss:
Nice! Good for you. ![]()
I’m just a cheap ass! ![]()
A rebel! Hell yeah. ![]()
Three weeks door to door. And yes, markm is a trouble maker! No offense.
None taken! ![]()
So did you ever hear from Ident during the process or did the lower just show up at your door?
