Does anyone know of a reputable place in Indiana where I can send my lower to be engraved? If all else fails I plan on sending it to Orion in MN, I’m just trying to save as much as I can on shipping.
Not in Indiana, but I’d highly recommend Tar Heel State Firearms here in NC. One of the few places you can get all three pieces of the trifecta (price/speed/quality), since most places will provide 2-of-3. $30 for engraving, and you can just include your own return label instead of paying the $15-$25 some places charge. Should be $5-$7 each way, and they’ve been turning them around in 48 hours or less in most cases.
$5 shipping? From who? 2nd day air isnt that cheap. Ups was quoting me $40 to Orion in MN. This is a stripped lower also.
I just ship mine Priority Mail. Or FedEx/UPS Ground.
So a stripped upper can go via usps? That’s new to me.
I’ve both them to FFLs for engraving and had them sent back that way from FFLs (when they shipped them, not me sending a label). I’ve never looked at the regs to see…figured they knew what they were doing.
There is Veritas Machining in Michigan, I’ve used them a few times.
Ship Ground. It is acceptable for long guns. Only handguns must ship expensively. I don’t know enough about the USPS rules, but technically you can ship rifles USPS as well.
Depends on where you are in Indiana.
I had Laserscribe on the southside of Indianapolis do mine, as they’ve done a few of my friends’ stuff too. He’s got a great setup, is reputable around the city, and turnaround time was 6 days. I don’t know if he accepts shipped lowers though.
Look at Veritas Machine in Union MI. They did my SBR and a bunch more for my shooting buddies here. Phil rocks and is awesome to deal with, super fast turnaround too.
