Looks like C-Products came through finally. I think the XCR is the first carbine to use the new mag format, with AR15’s sure to follow. MRP owners especially can benefit
For now though, its all about the XCR

Could you buy an XCR already in 7.62x39mm without having to get the 223 version and having to get a conversion kit?
The conversion kits are ridiculously expensive ON TOP of what you pay for an XCR. If one could get a 7.62x39 XCR for the same price as the 223/5.56mm, it would be great.
BTW, how much are the c-products 7.62x39mm mags? They’re not on the website.
From my understanding, Robinson will ship complete 7.62x39 carbines and kits. They are shipping 6.8 complete, so I imagine it will be the same deal.
Not sure about C-products.
V,
Nice!
I may have to keep mine and get a 762 kit for it.
Do the 30 rd mags seem unwieldly?
Does c-prod make a smaller 762 mag?? 20rd maybe??
Very interesting.
Please keep us updated.
I wondered the same thing. I would like a shorter mag. 20-25 rounds would be perfect.
Finally a 7.62x39 that is modern, with good ergos and a BHO. Should make for great carbine class experiance, but saving a buttload on ammo…To be honest though, I would have preferred 5.45
What do you mean about the AR mags, and what mag format are you refering to?
I’ve been waiting for reports of this version of the XCR. Is the upper the same as that of the 5.56, or has it been made more robust?
As far as I know there is only one XCR upper for all of the planned intermediate cartridges (5.56, 6.5, 6.8 and 7.62 x 39). This way, no matter which gun you have originally, you can convert to the others.
I haven’t heard of any complaints of the 5.56 upper not being strong enough.
The question is whether the C-Products mags will actually work. They seem to have had alot of QC issues with other mags. These 7.62x39 AR mags have the appropriate curvature up until the mag well, but I have to wonder how the rounds are going to feed once they are forced to conform to the straight magwell. Time will tell.
