rings are warne 30mm Tactical, base is warne 20MOA, and scope is bushnell 4200 Tactical Elite 6-24x50. I am just happy how accurate it is at 14.5 inch.

I have one in .308 from before they quit making them…and then started again. No accu trigger, but adjusted to acceptable status anyway. I mounted a Leupold 2.5x EER scope. Had it duracoated. Makes for one handy little deer rifle, great to carry all day long, and shoot a little…or once.

Its a push feed, and occasionally the extractor doesn’t pick up the live round in the chamber when unloading, but has never happened when the round is fired.

Accuracy is more than acceptable. I don’t shoot too many groups with it, but last I checked, about 1.5 moa with my reloads. Sighted at about 1-2 inches high at 100, I have no question that I could hit any big game animal in the right spot within any reasonable range I’d encounter in my AO.

I like it for what it is. Was very reasonably priced when I got it, too.

Have you been pretty happy with the leupold? I’m looking at one of those because of cost and the simplicity of a fixed power. I’m interested in your thoughts on the field of view and if 2.5x is enough power.

I’ve seen pics of a Savage Scout with a EGW base, cantilevered forward and am wondering…

What if you cantilever the base backward, somewhat over the ejection port, so you could mount a traditional scope…like a Burris Short Mag 2-7x which claims 5" eye relief.

Could that achieve proper eye relief without crawling way up the stock, with no modifications necessary?
