I posted this earlier, but I bought the Magpul dvd’s on the basic and advanced carbine. Is the training geared specifically towards carbines or can I take my issued M16A2 and use the same stuff?
Yes, the same things being taught apply to longer rifles as well. You might find some manipulations a bit harder, but that’s just by virtue of the fact you’re working with a larger/longer weapon. The M16A2 is perfectly applicable for those DVD’s, as you really have the same manual of arms, just a more awkward version of it. Heck, many guys pick up all sorts of useful info and they’re working entirely different weapon systems like AK’s, FAL’s, etc.
