Saker 556 K on 14.5"?

(TITLE SHOULD BE SPECWAR, NOT SAKER).

Good morning,

I’ve been following this thread for some time and would love to get some advice from you – I’m looking for my first can, and currently use a 14.5" 5.56 BCM w/ a gunfighter mod1 compensator. Seeing the various options and different pros/cons, I was thinking that a Specwar 556 K (esp at a great price) would be a good options based on the following:

  1. It’s pretty light weight at 13 oz, and does not add too much length,
  2. It’s available for really good prices right now.

While I can’t predict what might be the case in 2 years, currently I have no plans for a .300 or 7.62 rifle, or an SBR. My goals are to balance decent suppression (just to make range trips a bit better, and in case I have to use this at home it would reduce the chance of going deaf), light weight, and low price.

Would you have other recommendations in this price range?

Also, would the muzzle recoil/rise be comparable or different than my BCM compensator right now?

Thanks!
Barb

I think it would be a good can

Just remember it’s going to be louder bc its a k series but it’s also going to be lighter and shorter

Plus later on you can could add the omega and use the same mounts

Typically i find suppressed to recoil more than a braked gun

I don’t think it can be beat at the price it’s going for right now. I also find that suppressed recoil is greater than with only a brake. Although, with an adjustable gas block such as the Syrac, I have found it is possible to tune it to feel quite comparable.

Thanks both. Any opinions on how the recoil might be w/ the suppressor on compared to a hybrid FH+MB like the BCM Gunfighter?

I have never use the BCM Gunfighter comp and therefore cannot comment directly on that particular comp. I doubt there would be much of a difference.
