Safety issue(s) or not?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pID-WHQyHo

Are there any safety concerns present? And lets keep the talk on what’s seen on the video.

I’m not a fan of the muzzle up method for moving in the stack. Combine that with the camera guy beiing up above and behind the targets… that’s a little sketchy for my tastes.

how about whats going on at the 1:04-08’ish mark?

I had to stop watching at 1:45. To much stupid. I hope we never have to read about these guys at a later date in the news.

WhistleDick LASERED the piss out of RayJay’s TORSO when he holstered. Again… transitioning from muzzle up instead of muzzle down and outboard.

No bueno AT ALL!

To the guy’s credit, his finger is off the trigger. And I can NOT say I’ve never accidentally lasered… but if you’re making a promo video, you ought to not include that type of thing.

I agree. The scary thing is you would think they would get it down dry before they make the leap to live fire.

Good point.

from the guy shooting the video:

Hahahaha… No Kyle … no one got “flagged” or muzzled as we like to call it…

and

As the guy behind the camera I can tell you no…the camera is off to my right so it may look that way but no…3 cameras were running and all other cameras show he wasnt…nuff said

Yeah… OK! And the camera added 10 pounds to the guy out front. He’s really a skinny guy and the muzzle never swept him!

They could of probably yelled something like “two friendlies coming out” as they exited the room(s).

One other thing to add, IMO this is where Siminutions would and do shine. You get most of the benefits of live fire with less risk of popping your teammate and causing permanent injury. Although, they may not look as cool when you are doing a youtube video.

Those simuntion companies usually only supply legitimate training companies that ammo though. :stuck_out_tongue:

If you’re riding around in a lawn maintenance trailer??? NO.

Good point. "Fuck it… We’ll do it live. "

Yikes. I’m no high speed guy, but holy christ those guys might have been a little over their heads.

“Goin’ HOT, Boys!”

I saw that immediately. WTF?

Wow! Seriously, cameraman? Was he making it a point to stand in unsafe areas during that whole video or what?

Most of the stuff has already been said.

#1: Muzzling each other in the stack
#2: Muzzling the cameraman
#3: the cameraman being retarded
#4: dumbest “clear” commands I have heard recently
#5: why is that one guy unloading a rifle at 3 feet into a cardboard target?

Who is the “knowledge” base that is teaching these guys?

Also the muzzle up in a stack is actually not uncommon, except you index off your body, like your jaw, ear (or earpro) or glasses. Rather have that the standard position SUL.

To their credit, they were moving slowly and deliberately. That does provide some level of safety.

I found it interesting that they developed a “cat walk” by digging their “shoot house” into the ground. The camera angles did not show a full view of the range but it appeared that they had at least 120 degrees of traverse.

No one in the video seemed to demonstrate significant skills as a trainer or as a serious student.

I would like to find more positive points.
