Anyone familiar with these? I have a two week non-firearms training class coming up and need a new holster to carry with during my frequent “classroom” sessions. I want at least one level of retention.
I came across these, seems they were new in 2014.
I am open to similar options as well. Gun is a full size M&P.
I saw this pop up in a magazine ad recently. I want to say that Bianchi has a holster with a similar retention idea behind it. Personally, the I prefer an ALS system, that is operated with my thumb. But that is me, and I cut my teeth with thumb breaks so it is natural for me.
I have one GLS holster and about a half dozen ALS ones. I do like the thinner profile of the GLS, but IMO it’s not a retention holster. I rarely use it in favor of an ALS rig when I carry on belt.
Thanks for the info… it seems Bianchi and Safariland are one and the same now anyways. I too have used an ALS for many years but on the M&P I get bad wear to the finish on the top of the slide between the ejection port and the rear sight where the ALS mechanism drags during holstering/unholstering. That’s really the only reason I was thinking about this one, since it locks via the triggerguard and shouldn’t cause that wear.
