Anyone have any pics that show what they use to mount their ALS holsters to a MOLLE platform? I’ve heard of using 550 cord or zip-ties, but I’m wondering if you mount with the paddle still attached, or detached.
I did a search that resulted in some responses, but found few that really show how it looks, at least with the terms I used.
Thanks,
Pat
Any significant advantage to using the kit over just inserting the forks directly into the MOLLE loops? I don’t really need to mount the pistol onto my chest rig, just the MOLLE on my war belt.
I had a 6280 mounted onto MOLLE by the MLS forks alone for a while. I personally found the mounting too loose for a smooth draw. I never felt like the holster was in danger of falling out; I just couldn’t consistently draw from it without an extra tug or two.
I originally bought the MLS Kit because I wanted to be able to move the holster from one piece of gear to another easier. I also needed an extra MLS 16 Accessory Locking Fork on top of the Kit to accomplish this, something I found out after buying the Kit.
I think it feels more secure than just sticking the forks directly into the MOLLE too.
If I’m reading your post correctly, it sounds like the MLS Kit doesn’t allow one to have two quick release, MOLLE-mounted receivers in two different places, is that right?
As far as the bawidamann setup goes, does anybody have any experience with it? I’m running an ALS right now, mounted to a drop attachment through my belt, but I’m wanting to mount it to MOLLE and have been a little hesitant to use the MLS attachments from Safariland. Just curious!
I use the MLS/QLS on all my duty holsters. I can mount to my 6004 platform, UBL, paddle, belt loop, and MOLLE gear depending on my mission profile. I even have my ALS TASER holster set up this way.
Another vote for the MLS. After using the Safariland brand MOLLE adapter, the DBT plate, and rigging some Bladetech stuff, I have now settled on the MLS in various forms. It transitions well from basic gun belt to full bore load out.
