I’m looking to get a Safariland 6378 ALS holster for my Sig P226R DAK .357 and would like it to also fit my Sig P226 DA/SA .40 that does not have a rail. Safariland lists several models for the P226 and I’m trying to figure out if there is a model that will fit both. Anyone know if there is one and, if so, what the item number is?
Nope. The ALS requires a snug fit on the pistol for the locking mechanism. The railed and non-railed Sigs have a significant difference in their frame sizes around the rail, so you won’t find a holster that fits both. You can find universal holsters that will fit a wide range of full sized pistols though. However, they are not form fitting, are made of soft nylon usually, and only have a flap or snap retention.
Thanks, that’s the conclusion I was leaning toward but I figured I should check.
