I put a RRA LPK Sabre Defence lower receiver last night and I noticed the safety selector did not fully rotate to safe or fire. The safety is still functional, but not pointing correctly. I tried a CMT selector and it was the same.
I pulled the grip and checked the hole, I then put the detent pin in and noticed the detent hole was about 1/2 mm forward of where it should be.
I sent an email to the vendor I bought it from in Huntsville, AL. I saw a post on this board when I searched for a similar problem. The poster mentioned reaming out the hole.
Should I email Sabre Defense direct as well?
Rick at Sabre Defence has the lower in Nashville, TN. It is getting a flaming guitar engraved on the side.
Definitely contact Saber on Monday.
I sent an email to the vendor and to Rick at Sabre.
I will give them a week to get back to me. The safety is functional and as I peruse pictures of others ARs I notice their safeties not perfectly aligned as well.
My Noveske N4 lower has very slight cant in its safety selector as well. I will post pictures if you guys want to see it. It now has character.
I would still pick up the phone and call. I would not depend on email.
Sabre’s QC is looking at my lower receiver. I left the grip on so they could see how the safety is off. It was also very tight when I tried to put a Tactical Innovations splintered A upper on it. The upper wouln’t even go all the way on.
Wow! The new one is MUCH nicer than what I sent in.
Not only that, but I now have a factory built Sabre Defence lower using a RRA LPK!!!
I had already bought a replacement lower and LPK so this one is a spare.
This was the section out of spec, now it is happier!
