Gents, I have a question that may not have a definitive answer.
I have a SA MC Operator on order (can’t wait!) along with a Surefire X300.
My question is WRT Raven Concealment rigs. They offer their light compatible model with a couple of options for the X300:
U/P Latch or Rail Lock. I plan to ‘permanently’ mount the X300 on the weapon or at least don’t plan to move it around to other guns. So, is the Rail Lock simply an option if the light doesn’t mount securely with just the pull down tabs? Or, is this a matter of U/P Latch = quick release capability and Rail Lock = permanent mount?
Or, am I going to have to wait until I have both the gun & light in hand to determine which I need?
I have the same setup and am waiting for the Phantom Light Compatible holster right now. I just kept the standard U/P latch on my Operator. Its locked up nice and tight and I am just keeping it there for now. I wish I had the holster in hand so I could put up some pics for you.
Once I get both the gun & light in hand, I’ll mount the x300 and go from there. I was just trying to get a head start on the wait time while I’m deployed.
We generally recommend the U/P latch for pistols and the Rail Lock for rifles. You can use them in the opposite configurations, but that seems to be what works best for most people.
I’m sure you have figured this out by now, but the light comes with several rail adopters, and changing them out will make that X300 fit tighter on your MC Op. mine was very sloppy.
