What are you guys using as holsters for your S&W Shield? I have used Kramer leather for years, but don’t have the patience to wait 8 weeks for a new holster for my Shield 9mm. Any suggestions?

I use a Garrett Silent Thunder STX for OWB and a Remora 6ART-RFT for IWB, love them both. The Garrett is an amazing holster: kydex lined with leather. Allows a truly silent draw and protects the slide from Kydex rash.

I haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet, but I am already impressed with the way it handles. I also think the trigger (especially reset) is much better than my other M&Ps, even with Apex innards.
Using a Holstex IWB from Multi Holsters
I’ve been using both the standard as well as the micro mini appendix rig from www.rdrholsters.com.
The standard model with IWB loops carries exceptionally well imo.
FWIW I have used the garret silent thunder models in the past and they are excellent rigs. Their new STX 2.0 model looks very intriguing, atleast in theory.

Here is a picture of my Shield next to an AIWB holster and mag pouch made by Ludus Magnus Holsters. I tried the holster AIWB with snapcaps dry firing and carrying around the house and decided that I was more comfortable with the gun at 4 o’clock, which is where I normally carry IWB. The hloster is comfortable AIWB, but I wasn’t and prefer to keep the gun where I am used to. Right now Ludus Magnus is only contactable by facebook as far as I know.
I’ve also used the same holster of AIWB with a Kahr PM-9.

Raven Concealment. Love mine.
For OWB, Raven Concealment is my favorite. For IWB, I prefer the comp-tac MTAC.
I carry mine in a Crossbreed Holster (http://crossbreedholsters.com/MiniTuck/tabid/91/List/0/ProductID/6/CategoryID/1/Level/1/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName,ProductName). Very comfortable and concealable. I also carry my Glock 26 in a Crossbreed as well. IMO, I think Crossbreed Holsters the best IWB. The leather platform molds to the contours of your body which prevents printing.
As for OWB, I have a Raven Concealment Holster. The Shield is available through their quickship models (http://www.ravenconcealment.com/quick-ship-products/production-phantom-holsters/quick-ship-phantom-modular-holster). I ordered it and received the holster in about 2-3 weeks.
I would probably buy a Shield if Raven made a Vanguard 2 for it.
Going to be using Dark Star Gear for mine. Probably AIWB. I highly recommend them.
I’ve been extremely satisfied using IWB and spare mag pouch from www.pjholster.com. Thinner kydex for more comfort, low profile design, excellent customer service, SHORT turn-around (was 10 days back in May), and great price for quality work.

I use a Comptac Minotaur. I have a bigger frame so it’s really comfortable. Also it has plastic hooks so I am not constantly scratching stuff with metal hooks.

I have a Crossbreed Supertuck. Very comfortable, but sometimes a little difficult to get my thumb around the gun since it’s pressed so tightly up against my body.
So many nice ones. Its hard to pick one. But I vote hidden hybrid…at least till I come across another that I just can’t resist.
